Will Aitchison is a Portland attorney who has represented over 120 law enforcement and firefighter labor organizations across the country. Aitchison graduated from the University of Oregon (Honors College) in 1973, and received his JD in 1976 from Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C. After two years of clerking for Chief Judge Herbert Schwab of the Oregon Court of Appeals, Aitchison entered private practice.

Beyond his day-to-day representation of public safety labor unions, Aitchison has handled large scale class actions under the Fair Labor Standards Act, representing over 30,000 plaintiffs over the course of dozens of cases, and recovering over $100 million for his clients. In addition to his private practice, Aitchison has served as both an arbitrator and a pro tem district court judge, and has contributed numerous articles to various periodicals. Aitchison has instructed well over 10,000 management and labor representatives on various aspects of employment law, and has litigated hundreds of labor arbitrations for his clients.
Aitchison is the author of eight books on public labor relations issues, including The FMLA: Understanding the Family & Medical Leave Act, The Rights of Law Enforcement Officers (Sixth Edition), and Collective Bargaining For Public Safety Employees.
