As of the date of this posting (November 14, 2021), we are seeking to fill one Administrative Associate position.

The team member in this position is a doer, implementer, problem solver, and clear communicator who is detail- and deadline-oriented, capable, self-motivated, proactive, and supportive.

This position supports and enhances the ACLU of Oregon’s mission, vision, and values by:

  • Helping to create, implement, and refine fiscal, operations, and human resources-related policies and processes.
  • Supporting and implementing a wide array of operational processes, including those involving bookkeeping, budget-related tracking and reconciliation, bill payment, human resources, employee benefits, payroll, office management, vendor management, information technology, meetings, and events.
  • Supporting areas and team members across the ACLU of Oregon with administrative support tasks and projects, including, but not limited to: scheduling, creating and maintaining files, creating and keeping records, data entry, doing research, compiling information, pulling or creating reports, creating agendas, taking minutes, editing and proofreading documents, helping to maintain our website and social media sites, monitoring and responding to phone calls and emails, and supporting meetings and events.

This position works closely, collaboratively, and supportively with all areas of the ACLU of Oregon, including administration, integrated advocacy, development, membership, legal, policy, and strategic planning.

This position requires strong and continued commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, anti-racism, anti-misogyny, anti-transphobia, anti-homophobia, anti-ableism, and all other types of anti-oppression, as well as the proven ability to incorporate these values in work internal and external to our organization.

This is a salaried, exempt, full-time position. This is a mid-level position with the following responsibility level: exercise independent decision-making in executing goals/tasks and manage discrete projects as assigned; generally no supervisory duties but may supervise interns and volunteers. The salary for this position level is $60,000.

Because we have established an internal salary system that centers equity, clarity and transparency, competitiveness, and sustainability, salaries for positions are not negotiable.

Currently, we are developing a values- and equity-based approach to implementing upwards salary adjustments for team members who are able to demonstrate that based on their lived experience, work or volunteer experience, formal or informal education, and/or language skills, they have contributed or will be able to contribute significant value to the ACLU of Oregon's work in the areas of anti-racism, equity, and centering of and connection to BIPOC or other marginalized communities important to the ACLU of Oregon's work, and that this contribution is significantly greater than the level of general competence and contribution in these areas expected of ACLU of Oregon staff in each of our positions.
