Not everyone in Oregon benefits from the new legal framework around cannabis use in the same way: There are many people in our community who live in public housing or rental housing where cannabis possession and use is not allowed, while home owners are able to possess and use cannibis freely.

HB 2233 would create safe and legal spaces for people in Oregon to consume cannabis, while also creating a legal framework for consumption of cannabis at temporary events. This bill is an important step to ensure that the changes we have made in our laws operate in an equitable and fair manner.
