ACLU of Oregon is, once again, joining with Basic Rights Oregon (BRO) to advance the relationship rights of LGBT couples. In 2004, Oregon voters added a defense of marriage amendment (DOMA) to our state constitution which limits marriage to one man and one woman. So to gain the freedom to marry in Oregon means we have to change the constitution . We want Oregon to be the first state to overturn our DOMA at the ballot box. To that end, BRO has been engaged in an education campaign to change the minds and hearts of Oregonians regarding marriage equality. Find out more about BRO’s work on marriage equality.
