The message:

Congress has passed a final budget framework that opens the door to massive cuts to Medicaid and will have a devastating impact on people with disabilities. We must take action now.

Medicaid is a lifeline for children and adults with disabilities. It pays for mental health services for school-aged children. It provides treatment for millions of people with opioid use disorder. It allows seniors to get care in nursing facilities. Millions of disabled people depend on Medicaid for services that allow them to live and work in their communities instead of in dehumanizing institutions. Medicaid allows direct care workers, predominantly women of color, to provide seniors and disabled people help with all aspects of daily living so they can be safe at home and live with dignity.

All of this, and more, is at risk. There’s no time to wait: Send a message to your members of Congress and tell them to protect Medicaid at all costs.

Subject:

Say No to Cuts on Medicaid

Body:

As your constituent, I am urging you to say no to including any cuts to Medicaid in the reconciliation bill. This critical program provides healthcare services to millions of people and is a lifeline for adults and children with disabilities. Cuts to Medicaid would negatively impact access to mental healthcare for schoolchildren and prevent people from getting treatment for substance use disorders. It would harm seniors in nursing facilities and disabled people who want to live safely and with dignity in their own homes.

Medicaid enables individuals to participate in the economic, social, and civic life of the nation. Please, say no to any cuts and save Medicaid now.

Sincerely,
