Jackie leads the ACLU of Oregon’s community engagement work.  She is looking forward to working with the entire ACLU of Oregon community and with community partners to strengthen our democracy.  Having most recently served as a policy advisor to Governor Kate Brown during the COVID-19 pandemic, racial justice uprising, and behavioral health crisis, Jackie seeks to collaborate with others to build community and build power in service of nurturing a community that is equitable and just.  She finds that gentle humor tends to make most things better.  Jackie loves working with her hands and sometimes aspires to be an electrician or carpenter.  She’s also a long distance cyclist who has ridden the Cycle Oregon Classic each September since 2010.  At home, she spends time in her garden and hangs out with her dog Phoebe and cats Pikka and Xander, collectively known as the Furry Yerby’s.
