People suffering from addiction need help, not jail. The Drug Addiction Treatment & Recovery Act, or IP 44, is a citizen initiative that Oregonians will vote on in November.

The idea is straightforward: Instead of arresting and jailing people for possession of small amounts of drugs, we would use excess revenue from Oregon's existing marijuana tax to pay for increased access to addiction treatment and recovery services, including supportive housing, to help people get their lives back on track.

We need your help qualifying our measure for the ballot. We're well on our way to qualifying for the ballot, but because of COVID-19, we stopped in-person signature gathering. We only need 5,500 more signatures, and you can be a hero of the movement by volunteering to help us gather petition signatures -- from your living room! No matter where you live in Oregon, the More Treatment Campaign needs your help to phone bank and ensure as many Oregonians send in their petitions as possible. It's literally the most important thing you can do for the campaign; one or two petitions could make or break us.
