You may have seen ACLU of Oregon legal observers with their bright blue vests during Black Lives Matter protests. Legal observers are volunteers who attend demonstrations and courthouses to document when police or federal law enforcement, such as Immigration & Customs Enforcement, violate the constitutional and other legal rights of the people.

Watch this video to learn more about our legal observers: who they are, what they do, and what they have experienced. We are grateful for their service and commitment to holding police and federal law enforcement accountable
to their commitment to protecting the civil liberties and civil rights that make our democracy possible.

The ACLU of Oregon sends trained legal observers to protests and demonstrations to observe any action by law enforcement. If you or your organization would like to request legal observers for an upcoming action, please fill out this form: https://aclu.gospringboard.com/webform/aclu-oregon-legal-observers-request
