Right now, hundreds of people in Oregon are imprisoned by a racist non-unanimous jury law passed in 1934, following the rise of the Klu Klux Klan in the state. Accordingly, for almost 90 years, someone in Oregon could be convicted and caged even if two jurors returned a “not guilty” verdict.
